The Wise Man’s Fear

From Brandon Sanderson’s Twitter:

“It should be noted that this ARC of Wise Man’s Fear is 1100 pgs long, 100 more than The Way of Kings. THE GAUNTLET HAS BEEN THROWN DOWN.”

In a word: Awesome

March 1st can’t come soon enough.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

This is the title of the first game that Curt Schilling’s company 38 Studios is producing. Who’s involved? Curt Schilling (former Red Sox pitcher), Todd McFarlane (comic book artist doing the graphic design) and R. A. Salvatore (fantasy author).

Sign me up. It’s supposed to be available in late 2011.

The Law of Nines by Terry Goodkind

Terry Goodkind’s website has been updated with a new splash page with the cover of his new book and a blurb about it and it sounds good to me!

They watch you through mirrors…

“Your mother was twenty-seven when it came to her. Now you’re twenty-seven, and it’s come to you.”

The skin of Alex’s arms tingled with goose bumps. By her twenty-seventh birthday insanity had come to his mother….

Turning 27 might be terrifying for some, but for Alex, a struggling artist living in mid-western United States, it was cataclysmic. Inheriting a huge expanse of land should have made him a rich and happy man; but something about this birthday, his name, and the beautiful woman whose life he just saved, had suddenly made him – and everyone he loved – into a target. A target for extreme and uncompromising violence…

Where do you turn when your own reflection spells doom?

In Alex, Terry Goodkind brings to life a modern hero in a whole new kind of high-octane thriller

Book Recommendation

“The Road” by Cormac McCarthy:

This is an extremely powerful book of survival and hope. Viggo Mortensen will be starring in the movie based on the book which will be released on November 26th, 2008 (tentative date). Do yourself a favor and make sure you read this one!

Here is a still from the movie:

Book recommendation

Here is a book that I HIGHLY recommend and it’s out now in paperback and hardcover:

You don’t need to be a fan of fantasy literature to enjoy this book. Fans of good fiction novels will find this a great read!

Book Two of the series (by author Patrick Rothfuss) is called “The Wise Man’s Fear” and is scheduled to be released on April 7th, 2009.
