If you’re like me right now you’re singing “It’s the End of the World as We Know It” by REM (and no… I don’t feel fine) or you’re singing “Highway to Hell” by ACDC in light of the atrocity that occured last night. I’m still waiting to be woken up from this nightmare. <Pinch> No, I’m awake… Crap…
Here’s something to watch and look forward to (instead of crying over the future hell on earth over the next 8 years): David Cooks video for “Light On”. This song is pretty good. His album sounds like there’s about 5 or 6 really strong songs off of it (probably more once I hear the full length versions and it has a chance to grow on me). Probably not as strong as Daughtrys album but strong nonetheless.
Apparently youtube had the video removed so go to his website and they have the video there on the front page: http://www.davidcookofficial.com/
Here’s another thing to do: Go to J. R. Richards myspace page and listen to his acoustic version of “Until I Wake Up” (It’s the song that automatically plays when you open the page). It’s one of the greatest things I’ve ever heard. I’m not exaggerating here. You must listen to this version. It was a Dishwalla song (he is the lead singer now turned solo artist) that originally was one of my favorite songs of all time. Now this acoustic version just pushed the original version off the cliff. IT’S THAT GOOD PEOPLE. Here’s the link: http://www.myspace.com/vocaltrix
One last thing: Watch the video for “Watch Over You” by Alterbridge. Again probably on my top 20 songs of all time. What a remarkable song… This is the new video version with clips from Celebrity Rehab on VH1. Admittedly I watch this show. One of the funniest things ever is watching the confrontations/interactions between Gary Busey (how awesome is he?!) and Jeff Conaway. It’s seriously sad to see some of these people and their problems. But it makes for good TV. Hopefully these celebs can make a turn in the right direction.
