New Album by Coldplay out on October 24th

Coldplay is the U2 of this generation. They have been putting out solid music for over a decade now with their last album being one of the best ever. I can’t wait for this new album to come out. The only reservation I have for it is that Rihanna is on one of the songs.

I’m starting to think that this album will one of the “essential” Christmas albums to own (along with Josh Groban, Andrea Bocelli, etc. – a post on this later). I was worried about his cover of Mariah’s “All I Want for Christmas is You” but after watching the video below I’m not worried at all)

Two best parts:

1.) At 9:10 into the video: Bombur playing air guitar and drums. Laughed out loud on that one.

1.) Gabe Dixon:

If you are a fan of Billy Joel (Gabe’s music is piano based pop and his voice sounds very much like Billy Joel) then you will absolutely love this guy. His solo album “One Spark” comes out on August 23rd. The first single off the album is called “My Favorite” and it is a really solid song (it’s a song about him and his wife). Check out the video below:

2.) Sleeping at Last:

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t heard about these guys until now. Their stuff is absolutely beautiful. Definitely look them up on grooveshark or youtube. You won’t be disappointed. If you like Radiohead, Sigur Ros, etc. then you’ll dig this.

This is a song by them called “Quicksand”. You can’t tell me that you’re not moved by this:
